The Echo Nest today announced that it will be integrating its API with Spotify, effectively allowing app developers to use the Echo Nest’s vastly influential music intelligence algorithms in order to create apps within the Spotify model.
The Echo Nest’s platform is behind many of the biggest music apps on the market – the company has partnered with Twitter to allow for tweets to be easily embeddable into apps, with EMI to simplify music licensing for EMI artists, and powers everything from Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio, eMusic Radio, Nokia’s MixRadio, Rdio, and even Spotify’s Radio app.
